Clean Fuels Standard NESCAUM and Eleven Northeastern States |
In 2009, Raab Associates was brought in by NESCAUM and ten Northeastern states to help design and run the first two regional stakeholder meetings for the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) process. The LCFS, which was under exploration by the states, would have required reductions in the carbon content of transportation and, potentially, in heating fuels (e.g., 10% by 2020). During the two workshops, panels of experts, advocates, and policymakers shared their thoughts on various aspects of an LCFS. Following the workshops, in December of 2009, the Governors signed an MOU to move forward with the analysis and design of the LCFS in 2010.
In August of 2011, NESCAUM released an economic analysis of the LCFS, renamed the Clean Fuels Standard program, an eleven state effort to promote clean transportation fuels in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Region. Again, Raab Associates was brought in to help design and facilitate two regional stakeholder meetings where the findings of this economic analysis were presented and discussed. |
